My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Posted 8/8/17. Carl is an incredibly sweet pug that came to The Nest from a bad breeder/hoarder situation via a local humane society. Upon arrival Carl looked quite pitiful: he was trembling because he was very scared, he was emaciated, he was covered in fleas, he had very bad flea dermatitis and a very bad ear infection. He smelled really bad and his nail were almost growing into the paw pads. Needless to say he was kept in deplorable conditions. Thankfully Carl's disposition is very friendly and affectionate, plus he is just stinkin' cute so we think he will find his loving forever home quickly. Ever since he has been in foster care, Carl has made great progress - his appetite is good but he still needs to put on some weight, his skin is improving with medication, nutritious food and supplements. He is very good at going potty outside but we cannot guarantee that he would not mark his new territory initially.
For Carl we are looking for a home with fairly active people who have a securely fenced in yard. Although Carl is very laid back and may have a lazy streak - he LOVES snuggling on the couch with his human!, it is important that he gets plenty of exercise to keep him happy and healthy. He gets along fine with other dogs but does not seem to care for their company. He prefers a quiet environment and too much action and noises upset him. Carl is about 5 years old and he weighs about 12 lbs.
Carl's adoption fee of $250 includes neutering, vaccinations including Rabies, heartworm test, current heartworm/flea prevention, a dental and micro chip. If you are interested in adopting this cutie please fill out an adoption application. An application has to be filled out prior to setting up a meeting. No small children please.
