Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Napoleon
18 month old Male, Silver Shaded Persian
Neo is a special kitty that needs a special home. He came to us with 8 other Silver Persians. His elderly owner had just died. It was obvious that she had not been taking care of the kitties for some time. The cats were living in a screened porch. They were completely matted and covered in feces. We were contacted by the owner's daughter who found the cats and wanted to get them into a safe place. When PPCR went to get the cats, only 8 could be found. The cats were extremely fearful of us. It was clear that they were not used to human contact, especially the youngest one. We finally corralled eight of the cats into carriers. The daughter later captured the missing ninth cat. He had gotten in the house and could not be found until most of the furniture was out. She brought cat number nine to us. Guess who the wild child was? Yep, that would be Neo. He was so scared and we weren't sure he could see because he had such bad ulceration on his eyes.
He went to live with a foster mom who had previously taken in one of his sisters and had already decided to adopt her. Neo was kept in a small room and each night taken out and handled. Slowly the matts were worked off of his body and with eye treatment, much of the eye scarring went away.
Although Neo is still very skittish, it has become clear that there is a lap cat lurking under the surface. Neo definitely cannot go to a home with children of any age. He will need a very quite home with other nice, playful cats. He loves the company of other kitties and will groom, cuddle and play with them. Ideally, we would love to see him adopted with his other sister Pixie, who can be found on our available page. Neo will need a Persian experienced home as well. He will need someone to be vigilant with his eye care and grooming. We are still working on getting him used to grooming. Neo is still very skittish, but he will sleep with you and allow you to hold him on your lap and cuddle him. This does sometimes still makes him nervous, and sometimes he shakes while at the same time purring and enjoying the attention. He needs a patient home where he can continue to blossom and enjoy the comfort and attention of his humans in addition to other cats.
