Update 2/18- Pepsi has completed her heartworm treatment and is desperate to find a home or foster home asap where she can be the only pet. She has a wonderful personality with humans of all ages and tolerates being around some calmer dogs but doesn't like sharing her living space with them. Pepsi is a very sweet gentle 11 year old shepherd mix with a sad story. She was found as a stray and her owner was found but was unable to take her back. Apparently her son had some emotional issues didn't like the dog and had actually abandoned her, and for Pepsi's safety she was surrendered to the shelter Second Chances - Cumberland County Animals in Need. She must have spent a lot of time living outside- she came up heartworm positive and will be getting treated, and she was suffering from severe flea allergy dermatitis for a while.
Despite her tough history she is a very friendly lovable girl who loves everyone she meets and has a therapy-dog type personality with humans. She is looking to live as an only pet. Pepsi is about 45-50lbs and would love to find a foster or forever home where everyone in the house loves her and she will be safe and part of the family. Email njwoof@cs.com
We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
