My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there! Caught you looking! My name is Stitch and if you are super nice, I will tell you why.

I am a 10 year old very handsome black and tan who would love to be your new best friend. I am a very lovable sweet boy and love getting lots of attention and snuggling up with my people. My fur is just about the silkiest you will ever touch. I enjoy playing with my foster sibling and she even let's me snuggle with her too. I've had a bit of a different experience in my first few years and I'm still getting used to all of the noises and happenings in a human's day of life but I'm learning every day.

House training is going really well. I may have an accident here and there but going outside and getting treats for doing my business is really working and my belly band really helps minimize accidents inside. Keeping a regular outside time routine is great cuz' then I get to sniff and see the world AND get treats for doing my business. Speaking of seeing the world, I am a champion car rider even on those twisty roads over the river and through to woods to grandma's. Taking my foster parents for walkies is also a lot of fun and I like to meet new people and puppies even if I am a little shy at first. Bonding with more than one person is hard but I do like a good romp with both my foster parents. I will also tell you that I do have a bit of a heart murmur that requires daily medication but that's no big deal. My foster parents just hide it in my wet food and I don't even know that I have taken it. Oh and don't forget to check our my video link. You can see first hand how I LOVE to snuggle into my bed.

You made it this far now how about contacting the awesome folks at Dream Dachshund Rescue to fill out an adoption application? I can't wait to meet you!!!

If you are interested in adopting Stitch, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform2.shtml . Stitch 's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Stitch will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
