Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zach is a sweetheart who is in a hurry to go places. He prances when he walks and absolutely loves to explore the yard. He still needs a little work on the leash, but is getting better each time he is walked. He has a beautiful voice which he shares only on occasion. It is a full bodied bay, but he doesn't bark just to hear himself bark. He makes sure that the person or event is worthy of his beagley acknowledgement.
Like most beagles, he eats his meals and yet still has room for treats. This can be very handy when training time approaches. He is a smart guy. We are working on potty training, crate training and "sit", but he has already mastered the dog door and "clean the counter" (table or other flat surfaces). He loves to stretch on his tippy toes to see what might be hidden just out of sight.
Zach is quite social and loves the company of his foster family (both human and canine). He loves cats too, but they can be intimidated by his friendliness. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He can be a little pushy when it comes to food, but it is only pushing and shoving for position (no nipping) so he gets his fair share among his greedy siblings. He is gentle while taking treats from your hand, allowing you to keep your fingers.
In general, Zach would make a great companion for anyone with love to give to a cute, sweet little beagle boy. He will race up to welcome you home and sit nearby to bask in your affection and of course accept all the petting and kisses you offer.
Adoptive Status: Neutered, UTD on shots and micro-chipped.
Dream Home Minimum Requirements: Just needs love and a human to love him. And a ball. Zachary feels that a ball is the perfect toy as it can be chewed, carried, or chased. He's not a real demanding guy, but he insists that his forever home supply him with a ball or two.
