Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Pookey. POOKEY! Who would name a dog POOKEY? What kind of name is POOKEY? How would you like people to call you POOKEY? Sometimes I think they are calling me PUKEY! Other times it sounds like POOPY! It's no wonder I'm so shy. How am I supposed to respond to people with a name like POOKEY! I hide. I can't look you in the eye with a name like POOKEY! I have a right to some dignity! I can't get any with a name like POOKEY! What's even worse is the other dogs in my foster home don't give me any respect either. The cats even try to put me in my place. Attack them? How can I attack them? I would like to but how can a dog with a name like POOKEY dare attack anyone? Maybe if a poodle was named Pookey that would be ok. Or maybe if Pookey was a Golden it would be a happy pup but I'm a REGAL BEAGLE! I'm proud to be a beagle but I can't hold my tail up with a name like POOKEY.
If you really want to help me here is how you can. ADOPT ME AND CHANGE MY NAME!!! I promise that I will be eternally grateful and will be your faithful friend and companion for the rest of my life. Think about it won't you? THEN COME AND GET ME QUICKLY before I am emotionally scarred!!!
Foster note:
Pookey is a very nice 27 lb girl. She is a larger beagle and could put on a few pounds. She is a little shy at first but does come around. Pookey gets along with other dogs and cats. She does like to chew things that she has no business chewing. We now try t keep pencils, pens and other items away from her. Pookey is a very affectionate dog and likes to give licks.
