Neehi's Story...
UPDATE 7/11/09: Neehi is a spectacular kitten. She loves her turbo scratcher and must have one in her new home. Neehi also LOVES dogs! The bigger the better. She tries to even rub on the dogs that come up to the window at PetsMart. Neehi doesn't particularly care for cats but she does tolerate them and do fine with them so she could go as an only cat or with a kitty friend. She also loves her humans a lot! Neehi would do great with a family and nice kids. Neehi is now at PetsMart on Archer Road in Gainesville waiting for her forever home. Anytime she hears the ball zoom around in the turbo scratcher toy she runs to get to it and play! She is so delightful and energetic that she is going to make someone a very happy fun companion. Please stop by and meet her or e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for more information about our adoption process.
UPDATE 4/25/09: We can't believe no one is interested in our cute little Neehi. She did become a little aggravated with all of the barking dogs and noisy children at PetsMart but she is mellowing out again. She has such an endearing personality that we know if you give her a chance, you will fall in love. Please visit her at PetsMart on Archer Road in Gainesville and speak to our coordinator from 11am-5pm Saturdays and Sundays or e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com to learn more about our adoption process.
POSTED 2/28/09: Neehi is a very small petite young kitten who is in need of special care. She had a large wound on the left side of her head behind her left ear. This poor girl is about 10 months old and weighs less than 6 lbs. She is super sweet and loving. Neehi was spayed yesterday and was unfortunately already pregnant when she was spayed. She is just a baby herself. When she was turned over to rescue she had severe ear mites which have also been treated. Neehi is a very loving and affectionate cat. She has tested negative for feline leukemia, has been vet checked and is currently receiving medication for her ear mites and abscess on her head. She has also been vaccinated, fecal parasite tested and dewormed, microchipped, and treated with advantage multi for fleas, heartworms, and ear mites. Neehi needs a temporary foster home while her wound heals and then will need a loving forever home. If you are interested, please e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for an application. She will not be going to our adoption site at PetsMart until her wound is healed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Neehi, a Putnam Hall American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Putnam Hall, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Putnam Hall.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Putnam Hall already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Putnam Hall breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Putnam Hall paves the way for another one to be saved.
