Update: January, 2013: Miss Sweetie: 6 yr old female black and white Munchkin
What a cutie this little girl is. She was adopted from me in 2009. Now her adopter's adult children have moved back home and brought their young kids with them. Her surrender paperwork said Miss Sweetie has been "very upset at being poked." " couldn't protect herself" "Not good with hyperactive people" Let's hope the third time is the charm for this sweet little girl.
She is a Munchkin which is the Dachshund of the cat world. She has little short legs to go with her big personality. Fortunately unlike Dachshunds she will have no arthritis or bone troubles because of her unusual legs. Her last adopter wrote the following update ( slightly edited ) to me soon after adopting her:
--- She is doing well now and is very happy. She spends most of her day on my shoulders or next to my keyboard watching me work. She loves her fish cat food and her fish treats. She wakes me up everyday with kisses and then proceeds to try to preen my hair. Then we have our morning play session. I play with her an hour in the morning and an hour before bed.
She is a very smart kitty. During the day she will go get her play balls and bring them to me so I can throw them down the hallway for her. She will then be gone for about a half hour and bring them back to me. She has a pretty good vocabulary too. She understands her name, treat, and ball. When I leave to go somewhere she goes into hiding. She doesn't like to be alone. When I get home I just shake a toy or call her name and she will come out. She has a kitty bed but she prefers to sleep on my extra pillow. I have to guard her too, everyone who meets her wants to take her home. ---
When she first arrived back to be my foster, she was a bit hissy and cranky with us. She had been in the shelter 2 months and was not doing well there ( who would ?) ( I wish this adopter had contacted me ) She has gotten more relaxed with us and is settling in nicely. Now it is time for her to go rule her own quiet home where there are no folks who move too quickly and unexpectedly. It sure would be fun to watch her run down a hallway after a ping pong ball.
She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Original entry, 2009: This little cutie is adorable. She is surprisingly silky soft and has fabulous white whiskers. She loves attention and is active, curious and playful. She is a really nice little girl. She will follow you around the house on her little short Munchkin legs and be quite the companion.
She came into rescue because the addition of certain new kitties into her home made her very uncomfortable and she acted out her unhappiness in a number of ways including peeing outside her box. She was nervous and upset and not at all her happy self. We have watched her carefully in her foster home and her use of her litter box has been flawless. Simply a case of a kitty in the wrong place at the wrong time with a bored kitty stalking her.. This is a familiar story to those of us in rescue. ( Those clever kitties know a smelly picture is worth a thousand words ) ( Help Me!!)
Well we are certainly glad we were able to help her because what a pleasure she is. Total fun. She would probably be happy as an only cat or maybe with one very friendly kitty. She is an entertaining larger than life character and will be a great companion to someone in a stable and fairly quiet household. Reassure her and win her love and how lucky you will be.
