Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cha Cha
breed: Pit Bull
age: 2-3 years old
weight: 40lbs
good with: cats, dogs, kids, EVERYONE
medical history: spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative
training: crate trained, leash trained, very basic obedience (sit, heal, come) will need more work
owner experience level: beginner
One cold winter night I pulled up to a gas station and there was Cha Cha sitting outside of the store. She was wearing a choke chain and was staring into the store so I thought she belonged to another customer inside. When I walked up to her, she wriggled at me and my heart melted. I walked inside asked who she belonged to and no one answered. So I told her "let's go" and she followed. I was going to leave her at the animal shelter's night drop box, knowing she may be euthanized just because of her breed, crying all the way, but I couldn't leave her on the cold streets when a freeze was coming. Fate would have it that this shelter didn't have a night drop box so I brought her home. She is ALWAYS happy, especially when meeting new people. She gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids. She is pretty laid back and doesn't require a lot of exercise, but is happy to go for walks daily or romp in the yard with Brad. I haven't worked on her obedience training too much because she is so well behaved, but it wouldn't hurt for her to learn some basics anyway. Because of her calm, sweet, friendly nature, she would make an excellent candidate for therapy work. She would even be a good dog for a first time dog owner. I would like her to be adopted with Brad, but that is not required. Please contact Michelle pitchick44@yahoo.com to learn more!
If you would like more information about one of the dogs featured above, be sure to send a note to the "Contact Person." This is the person fostering the dog and they will be happy to answer any questions you have. Please don't just show up at Adoption Day expecting every dog to be there. We are limited by the number of volunteers who can help at each Adoption Day. Also, in sending your note to the Contact Person, be sure to include information about yourself, family, home, yard, fence, other pets, work situation, and pet accommodations. This information will help us make the best match between you and one of our dogs.
