My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nala is a two year old, 66 pound sweetheart of a dog. She loves people and dogs alike and has outstanding social skills. Please check out the video of her playing with a new friend when she first came to us! She walks well on a leash, is the kind of dog that could easily go to the dog park or any public space with her person, and she will behave impeccibly. She loves to play but her energy level is pretty moderate. She definately appreciates her couch time and is not going to have any burning desire to run a marathon- she is more of a stroll around the neighborhood kind of gal. She is doing well with her potty training and is just an easy peasy kind of dog. Nala has luxating patellas in her rear legs and while that doesn't bother her now, it would be best that she have a home without a ton of stairs. She has no mobility issues now, but it would be beneficial for her to avoid the continual wear and tear of navigating a ton of stairs, multiple times a day. Maintaining a healthy weight and regular vet care will go a long way towards future issues, She is a fantastic dog and while we recognize adopting a pet with the potential for future orthopedic issues is a big commitment, we know there is a family out there for her!

This dog is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms and is being treated in our care. The adoption fee is $400 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 10am-Noon. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
