My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival story: Scout's family can no longer keep her and are hoping she can a loving home through Waggin Tails.

Approximate age / weight: 7 years young and 85 pounds. Before you think this cute girl is too old
just think...she is move-in ready! Scout is calm, intelligent, patient, affectionate and potty trained!

Personality: Scout is a calm, intelligent, patient and often affectionate dog. She has been thought obedience class and has great house manners, not at all destructive. She knows to stay off the furniture and settles down at night on her dog bed for a little shut eye. Scout isn't fond of being in a crate but her family finds a crate is not really necessary for her. They have been able to leave her free in the house, without incident or destruction, while they at work. Scout is good with people and gets excited when visitors arrives. She will bark to protect the home and signal when someone is at the door. Just an all around good dog!

Although Scout currently lives with another dog and small children, her current family feels she would do best as an only dog and, because of her size, with children over the age of 3.

Forever home: Since Scout is use to having a fenced yard, we’d really like her new family to also have a physically fenced yard. Scout would do best as an only dog or with a submissive male as she tends to take on the alpha role in a pack. She doesn't require a lot of exercise, a leisurely daily walk would suit her just fine. Looking for a walking buddy? You may have just hit the jackpot! Oh ya, and please, no cats.

Pre-Adoption Application: To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years ), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
