Marley's Story...
Marley 1- 2 yr old male shaded silver, spotted tabby Maine Coon

Charley and Marley are very unusual cats. Nothing like any we have seen before. They have "Bunny Fur" You can see a bit from the photo's how silky and fine it is. Add to that the fact that they are shaded - the tips of their hair is colored ( Silver or black) and underneath each hair stem is pure white and then in addition they are spotted cats which is in itself very unusual. Gorgeous, gorgeous silky soft cats. They have wonderful black paw tufts.

The shelter said :

If you think you can pull them or know someone who would, please let us
know. We’re running into space issues again and I’m not sure if they’ll
make it to the adoption floor.

We wasted no time getting these two into foster care.

They are bonded brothers and will need to be adopted together. Marley is more outgoing and is a big confident love bug. Charley hangs back but loves it when you say "oh don't be silly" and pet him anyway. They are a young healthy pair. Playful curious, getting over showing up in a shelter. We are finding the most extraordinary cats in shelters this year.

They eat wet and dry and are litter box perfect. We need to have them a little longer to get to know their personalities better. Right now they are still in quarantine isolation. Updates soon. The last photo is their Shelter Picture- not their luxurious foster home.

'Foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marley, a Davis Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Davis, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
