My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harley aka Muppet is approximately 2 1/2 years old. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He is a very sweet, high content German Shepherd male, Mix. We believe he has some lab or collie in him but since he is unable to tell us his ancestry we are forced to make a fair guess. “Harley” is what his previous owners named him however since he has been in our care he reminds us of a very cute, Muppet so we dubbed him the name “Muppet”. His previous owners asked us to take him into Rescue because they were facing eviction from their rental home due to weight restriction.

This sweet boy has been through a lot, he was placed in a previous home by the owners and dumped back with them because their Jack Russell Terrier was bullying Harley. The original owners claimed they rescued him out of a bad situation at 9 months old, we can not say for certain what his past was like but I can tell you he is a bit on the shy side however he is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had in Rescue. He is polite, housebroken, doesn’t cause a fuss, and has excellent manners. Although he does on occasion demand attention by shoving his head under your hand or arm for petting and he does look at you with sorrowful, big brown eyes when you are trying to eat but that is the worst I can say about Muppet.

He will do great in a home with children that are not hyper active, and he is good with other dogs but does not like the overly dominant or pushy dogs, then again, I can’t blame him.

Muppet has never been crate trained however he is fine being left out on his own. This poor guy was never taken anywhere nor has he been on any walks, we are working on this and he is starting to come around. He needs someone that won’t give up on him when he becomes too afraid to try new things, he needs a leader so that he can look up to and follow for the rest of his life.
