Max's Story...
Max is an 18-month-old, energetic, playful and fun Foxhound/Collie-mix waiting for a loving home at the Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge. Max is housebroken and loves people and other dogs. He was adopted and returned by a family with young children who had no time to train him. This time around he’s looking for a patient dog-lover who has the time and energy to train and exercise him. He loves other dogs - and he's great to walk on leash. To meet and possibly adopt Max (#A032302), please visit the Animal Welfare League at 10305 Southwest Highway in Chicago Ridge, Illinois. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. To ask questions about Max or any of the other AWL dogs, you can contact Paula at paula.ferguson@animalwelfareleague.com or 708-636-8586 - ext 227. The adoption donation for the AWL dogs is $129 and includes their spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, heartworm-testing and micro-chip. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Chicago Foxhound/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Foxhound/Collie for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Foxhound/Collie dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Foxhound/Collie breeders who help with Foxhound/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
