Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Can you guess what kind of mix Newman is? Neither can we. But he sure looks like the kind of family pet that dreams are made of. And acts like it too...or rather he will with just a little bit of training and maturity. Newman is actually an amazingly good dog for one so young and obviously untrained. He has never had a single accident in his foster home and can be left on the loose inside the house all day without getting into any trouble. And he's only eight months old! Surely that must qualify him for a Guinness world record! Newman lives with two other adult dogs, and he is obviously following their good example, using the doggy door during the day and playing politely. When his foster mom comes home from work, or when he meets new people, Newman is just beside himself with joy. That's where the little bit of training comes in. He still wants to launch himself into human arms to say hello, but is learning that there are politer ways to greet people. He just forgets a lot. Newman is not all that dangerous a missile either, since he's actually a lot smaller than you might think from these pictures. There's only 35 pounds of dog under all that hair. He's still a little thin and gangly though, so he may eventually fill out to about 40-45 lbs. When Newman is not playing with the other dogs or chasing butterflies in the yard he is a real couch potato. And bed potato too - he'll sleep in for just as long as his foster mom wants to. Agility dog or cuddle dog, take your pick. Or pick both!
