Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What’s in a name? If our Emily is anything like the Greek origin of "Emily' which is 'Amalia', she is “friendly and tender.” Sounds right to us!
I’d like to believe Emily Dickinson is her namesake. “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and sings the tunes without the words, and never stops at all.”
Emily never lost her hope when she was at a high kill shelter, and once she was safe, her shyness melted away to reveal a very pretty, sweet girl. She’s petite, at about 50-55 pounds. She has plenty of time left for her to write poetry of her own about the wonderful family who adopts her. Could that be your family?
She absolutely loves other dogs, and will follow them around constantly. Emily still acts like a puppy (although she is housetrained!), and loves to chew on her Kong, and to play with balls and other toys. She stays in a crate about 4 hours per day and does fine. She is cat curious meaning that she’ll chase but hasn’t hurt any. She’ll do best in a home with another dog and where someone is home a fair amount of the time. She is a great runner and would love a daily run with her new human partner - and with her agile little body, she can really jump, so 5 ft. plus fences only! Emily is loving and sweet, and happy to give kisses. She's looking for a family that will give her lots of love to continue bringing out her sweet personality; she’s been hoping for a home like you and if you’re it please don’t wait to make her dreams come true!
