Stella's Story...

ADOPTION PENDING!

Stella is a 1 yr old miniature long-haired dachshund. She was brought to the shelter with her sister Hannah by her owner because he was moving and couldn't take them with him. They have been in foster care for a week now and her foster mom has learned a lot about Stella's personality. She is a little shy but very playful and loves to play with other dogs. Stella also gets along well with cats, we know that from her previous home. She does well in her crate and likes older children too. Stella is not housetrained yet (this wasn't something she was taught in her previous home) but we are working on it and she is improving every day. If you would like to meet STELLA, please directly contact her foster mom, Marlo, today at marlomartin@everestkc.net!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Overland Park Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
