Come see us on Sunday, August 22nd at the "Paws in the Park" Picnic and Pet Walk at Independence Oaks County Park, 9501 Sashabaw Rd, Clarkston. From noon to 4 p.m.: enjoy a picnic lunch, vendor area, face painting, hair wrapping/braiding, chair massage, raffles and more! Microchipping and nail clipping available. Dogs will love bobbing for milkbones, paw art, massage, games, contests and more. $10 per person, kids ages 12 and under are free and dogs are free. The park charges $5 per car, which participants will pay at the gate. The dog walk is on a paved trail through the woods and is roughly a half-mile in distance. Near our shelter is a kids' playground, horseshoe pit, croquet and paddleboat/canoe rental. Isn't he the cutest little guy? Mango (also known as CG) is a neutered male, shorthaired orange tabby kitten born May 12th. He is litterbox trained, extra playful and full of life. Mango was found all by himself sitting on the side of a very busy road. Thankfully someone stopped to help him and PFL rescued him. Mango loves other cats and kittens. He likes playing with toys and running around the house, chasing his buddies "Mortie" and "Tortie." Mango is a very affectionate, loving little guy. He purrs all the time to tell you how much he loves you and loves the attention. Adoption fee: $100.
Adoption Process:
Send an email to info@pawsforliferescue.org to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
