Well, hello there! I was wondering when you’d be looking for me!
My name is Pop Tart, since I’m about the same color and have as much sweetness as those tasty toaster treats. Shhhh … don’t tell anyone, but I’m not a Bichon. I’m actually a purebred poodle, but don’t tell my foster brothers that! I have the spirit of a Bichon, even if the “papers” say otherwise.
I’m 5 years old, weigh only 9 lbs. and have the most beautiful almond-colored eyes and nose. Well, that’s what my Mom says, and she’s always right! Mom also says I’m an easy-going guy, and I am happiest when I can be someone’s lap dog. Don’t get me wrong … I love to play with other dogs, and I can do the buzz with the best of them! But, given my ‘druthers’, I’d be in the lap of my special human, soaking up all the love and attention I can get! Big humans, little humans … I love ’em all. Mom calls me “Popper,” because I’m always the first one to pop up, wanting to claim your lap!
Maybe I was a traveler in a previous life, because one of my favorite things to do is to ride in the car. I LOOOOOVE riding in the car! Maybe it’s the sun beating down on me through the windows, or the wind blowing through my hair if you let me put my face (safely) out the window. But I am one cool dude in the car, so you can take me anywhere! Have wheels, will travel!
Dad says that I do the cutest thing when I want a treat or attention. Maybe it’s the poodle in me, but I do a different version of the bichon dance than my foster brothers. Dad says it’s more like an Old West bank hold-up! I stand on my back paws and raise my front paws straight up in the air, like a robber just said “Stick ‘em up!” He’s trying to teach me to drop and roll when he says “Bang!”, but we’re still kinda working on that one.
I’m housebroken and well-behaved, and know command s like “sit” and “down.” Mom says I’m one of the happiest little guys she has ever fostered … and she has fostered a lot, so that speaks volumes! She says that, more than anything, I just want to be loved. Now that’s not much to ask.
