Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! My name is Zoku and I was rescued recently from a shelter in Ohio. The vet says that I’m between 6 and 8 years old, but my foster mom and dad think that I look and act way younger. I don’t have any gray hair and I’m lean and fit. I am curious and interested but not destructive. I run circles around my six year old foster brother and I sometimes have more energy than my three year old foster sister. I also LOVE my humans! I almost like them better than other dogs, but don’t tell my foster siblings! I follow Mom and Dad everywhere and I always come when they call me. I love to snuggle and can often be found by their feet. My mom and dad say I’m adorable and have stolen their hearts.
I’m still learning to walk properly on a leash and learn basic commands, but my mom loves that I don’t stop and mark every tree. Since the vet thinks I was a stray for awhile, I’m still learning to tell my humans that I have to go out, but I sometimes forget and have an occasional accident. Mom and Dad say I’m learning quickly though, and I should have it figured out pretty soon.
The best part of my day is going for a walk. I get so excited and jump around. I also love to chew on the special dog bone Mom bought for me at the store. I pick it up and carry it with me when I need some good chewing time. I also love the “Kongs” that you can put peanut butter in although my mom only lets me have them when I have to go in the crate. She says it’s a special treat and it gets me in there every time. I stay in the crate when Mom and Dad are at work just because they are still getting to know me. I sleep upstairs in the same room as Mom and Dad, but I’m really good and stay on a blanket on the floor. As long as I’m with my humans, I’m happy.
Even though I love Mom and Dad, I’m really good with other people too. I love to be pet, cuddled, and fussed over. Everyone says I’m really sweet! I don’t have lots of experience with children, but I did play nicely with a little girl who was three and recently came to visit. She petted me and followed me around and I didn’t mind a bit. Mom and Dad say I have a funny sounding bark and it makes them laugh. It almost sounds like its rusty because I don’t use it very often. I’m also really good in the car and don’t mind going places. I love to look around and see what’s happening.
The vet says I have special needs because my heart has a slight valve disorder. I take a tasty medicine every day to help keep me healthy.
If you are looking for a sweet, cuddly, curious dog, I am the pup for you! Will you be my forever family?
