Carter's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Carter's Story...
Carter is a 10-year old who came in with most likely his littermate, Sydney, when their owner lost his job and home. He should make a nice, calm companion. Not overly affectionate at first, we expect him to be more playful and affectionate when he is comfortable with people. It would be nice if he and Sydney could go to a home together as it appears they spent their entire lives together. Come see Carter at Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro, NJ. Except for major holidays, the shelter is open 7 days a week. Adoptions are daily 1-5 pm; & Thursday evenings from 5-7:30 pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carter, a Edgewater Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Edgewater, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Edgewater.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edgewater already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edgewater breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edgewater paves the way for another one to be saved.
