Olive Oil's Story...
Olive Oil is a snugly, sweet, gentle, and playful 11-week-old, female tortoiseshell kitten looking for a loving home. Olive Oil was lucky to get out of a cage at Chicago Animal Care and Control and into a wonderful foster home where she can play with other cats and dogs. She enjoys sleeping on top of the greyhound in her foster home and the Chihuahua of the house likes to snuggle with her. She runs around carrying her little toy mice in her mouth. She’d be wonderful in just about any home … she loves people of all ages, cats and dogs. Olive Oil is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, virus-tested, de-wormed and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee of $65 (or $100 as a pair with a second kitten) benefits the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact his foster mom Katye at singsingkitty@yahoo.com or 815-603-1157.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Olive Oil, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
