My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Daisy C! This sweet chocolate labbie girl looks young, but she is actually 10 years old. She is a wonderful senior girl whose owners could not care for her anymore, so she ended up at animal control. LFS stepped in to give her the second chance she deserved. Upon rescuing her, we discovered she is super sweet, with a great personality. She is heartworm negative. Unfortunately, Daisy is 10 to 15 pounds overweight, so we are putting her on a much needed diet. In addition, she has an old break in one of her legs that was never fixed so it healed wrongly. This is causing her to be in pain, which together with her being so overweight makes walking not easy for her. We are currently working on getting her slimmer so we can tackle fixing her leg. So far Daisy has been a joy to her foster parents; there is no doubt that if you open up your home to this wonderful girl, you won’t be disappointed.

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER: Daisy "Rose" (she just looks like a Rose..hence DaisyRose) is now up to walking almost 1 mile per day! Her mother Jenny gave her a great head start that we could never duplicate and we are just trying diligently to keep the routine going! Bear and Daisy are "hip to hip" with each other and Yoda the cat is always in tow! DaisyRose is showing more energy each day and she is an absolute joy! Each day she shows how intelligent and well trained she is; though her previous humans may have been short of "funds" for medical care, they made up in the love for her. She is both verbal and hand gesture trained; we can tell her to sit and stay in both hand command and voice and she obeys. When I walk her she is very well trained and responds to commands.

UPDATE: Daisy has now lost 17 pounds!! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of her foster mom, Daisy is well on her way to reaching her weight-loss goal. Only 8 pounds to go! Daisy feels so much better now that the extra weight is off, she can walk about 1.5 miles and constantly has a smile on her face. She looks so good, her new pictures don't even do her justice. She is just such a happy girl.
