Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Scottie is a loving, calm, sweet and well-adjusted male that was surrendered by his owner for economic reasons. Since he lived outdoors at his previous home, he is learning to appreciate the security and comfort of indoor living. He is easy going, doesn’t bark much, gets along well with other dogs and doesn’t seem too interested in digging in the garden. He is may chew on inappropriate items that he finds on the floor, but he doesn’t go out of his way to find things to chew on like some other beagle children I have known. He is learning to go outside to the bathroom and use the dog door. Then we will move on to “sit”, “down” and “off”. He is getting a healthy dose of “No!” now since his life, routine and parents have changed, and he is not too sure just what the rules are at his new home. He is inquisitive and loves to explore new and different things. He does appear just a little timid in most new settings and doggie interactions. He is quiet when crated, but needs a little help and some reward to go into the crate. Scottie came into rescue with his brother Timmy Rock just about 2 weeks ago (09/04/10) and seems to be the submissive brother that relies on his sibling for courage and support in new situations. He came to my house a week ago and lived with our two cats for four days without noticing their comings and goings. He and Timmy only took an interest when Jesse (a cat) was perched out of their reach and refused to come down to play. Scottie is not demanding and can easily slip into a new home with a little help. He is looking for a permanent guardian that offers love and good care for the next 10 - 12 years or so. Can you help?
