My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everyone … my name is Nick and I am a very special boy! I was rescued from a shelter in Ohio, but how I got there is one question most people can’t seem to answer … it is clear that I lived in a home and I was treated well. If you have some time, I would love to tell you some things about me…

I am a very easy going, sweet tempered Beagle. Foster mom said that she would describe my energy level as medium-low because I like to play with the other dogs in my home, but I become quiet pretty quickly. I love to spend time on the couch with my foster family (I am not a lap dog, but I do like sitting on the couch next to my foster mom while she pets me). I walk well on a leash, I do not bother the resident cat and I seem to be fine with the neighborhood children. Overall there isn’t much that bothers me, although foster mom is still trying to determine if I am afraid of the sound of guns… you know, the ones on television.

I am crate trained when no one is home, but my foster parents think I will be a good candidate to have run of the house. Because I am completely house trained, I am allowed to sleep on a dog bed at night along with the other dogs in the home. I sleep straight through the night and often have to be woken first thing in the morning.

I am a bigger Beagle (both height and weight), and my foster family has me on a weight reduction program that will need to continue if you adopt me. Because of my size I am sure you will not be surprised to learn that I am rather gifted when it comes to counter surfing (I am a Beagle after all)! I also know some really neat tricks … when I want something I sit on my hind legs and wave my front paws. It must be pretty cute because my foster parents laugh every time I do that.

I hope what I wrote helps you know more about me. It is time for me to go sit on the couch and watch some television with my foster family. If you are interested in adopting me, please tell one of the BREW adoption counselors!

Note from the Foster Home: Nick’s transition into our home was very easy since nothing seems to bother him. His sweet disposition and familiarity with a home has made him a truly enjoyable foster, and he will be a great addition to almost any family.
