Penny's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Penny's Story...
This is Penny--a Shepherd mix pup who was born in October 2010. She is one of 4 very cute and sweet litter mates. There are 2 females and 2 males; 3 of them are tan and one is black (he's a male). We estimate they could be as large as 60 lbs when fully grown.

All ARRF adoptees will have up-to-date shots, be microchipped, and will have been spay/neutered when they become adoptable. Generally speaking, puppies should be good with gentle children, dogs, and cats. Of course, all puppies will need to be housetrained.

Puppies obviously need a bit of attention, so prospective adopters should have someone either at home during the day or able to make frequent visits during the day. Adopters must agree to go to positive reinforcement classes to make sure that these youngsters can "be all that they can be." In addition to the adoption fee, ARRF will collect a $50 deposit that is refundable upon proof of class attendance within 6 months of adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Vista Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Vista, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
