My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Revis is a 1-2 year old male chocolate lab that was picked up as a stray by animal control. Once again, no one came to the shelter to claim this handsome young fellow. He has a beautiful ,rich, deep chocolate coat with wavy fur near his tail.. He is one good looking boy! Revis is about 55lbs but could stand to put on a little weight. He is a good size lab..not to big or too small! Revis just got neutered on Wednesday so when I picked him up he was a little nervous. He didnt know what to make of the crate in my car. He may have been an outside dog because he has some areas of fur that appeared sun-bleached on his back hind quarters. He was very quiet in the car traveling across town. Infact, I never heard him bark during our time together. When Revis was picked up by animal control,he was with a labbie travel companion, so we think he is good with other dogs. Please check back as we spend time with him to find out more about his true personality and dispostion with kids, dogs and cats.

UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM: Revis must have lied to the person who rescued him. I'm sure he was afraid at the shelter, but he took one look at Mike when he walked in the door and was in his lap in the time it took him to cross the room! Once he and Alex got home they became friends. He's slowly getting the other two to warm up to him. He wasn't too fond of taking a bath yesterday, but if I held his head across my arm he seemed to calm down. After he was washed I took a good look at his coat. He's just beautiful. His hair is a gorgous mix of black and brown, reminding me of Mahogany Obsidien stones. The heavy streak of hair along his back is solid wavy curls. He's very afraid of cars, so I'll have to work with him on that. I thought he was going to hyperventilate when I took him with me on a quick trip to the grocery store. When we stopped at Petsmart he was very friendly toward the other dogs - no aggression there, but he was a bit timid around people he didn't know. I'm hoping that when he realizes that we're coming back home after a trip he will get over his fear. I wondered if he was afraid of confined spaces, because when he was asked to go in the bathroom, which is rather tiny, for his bath he politely refused. Mike has nicknamed him Wiggles. When he's really happy and the tail is going, so is his entire rear end. With a little bit of reassurance he's going to be a great dog.
