Augustus's Story...
Augustus, a young adult orange tiger type, spends his days playing on his catnip scratching mat and with with his blue fish toy. Sometimes he'll watch out the front windows or take a nap in the sun room. If he's not playing you will find him sprawled out somewhere in the house. He isn't picky about soft spots; he would rather be around you. Some mornings he will sit on fostermom's lap at her desk to get some cuddling in before she leaves for the day. Gus is playful, curious, and loving. He loves attention and isn't afraid to show it by purring.

You should adopt my fosterkitteh Augustus because ...

1. He is not shy and will run to the door to greet any visitors.
2. He is well mannered.
3. He is very sweet and will win you over in minutes

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Augustus, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
