Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Emma is a wonderful beagle (and possibly shepherd) mix. She's on the larger size and looks sort of like a beagle that was given growth hormones. Emma is a happy girl that wags her whole body when she gets petted and has a tail that curls to the side. She has soft, plush fur and loves to get belly rubs and give kisses. She will chase a tennis ball and waves both paws in the air when she wants a treat. Emma is a healthy girl that is crate trained and has a good grasp of housetraining. She loves to cuddle and will sleep next to you in bed at night if you let her. Emma is content to curl up next to your feet or beside you on the couch. She is excellent with the children in her foster home. She also gets along well with other dogs and cats.
Emma is very people bonded and would probably do well as an only dog. She could also be a companion for another playful dog, but might try and dominate a dog that is submissive. Emma is at that great age where she can still play hard, but has outgrown the destructiveness and hyperactivity of a puppy. She can be a bit naughty when it comes to food -- she thinks ALL food belongs to her. She has a healthy self-esteem and is more responsive to treats than to scolding. Emma will likely do well with a round of refresher obedience classes to remind her of her manners.
This sweet, joyful dog has been through too much upheaval in her short life and deserves so much better. Poor Emma was just returned to the rescue after 3 years in her adoptive home through no fault of her own. She was attacked by one of her doggie siblings and her former owner felt he could no longer keep her safe. Emma is a loyal and loving companion that is badly in need of a place to call home.
Adoptive Status: Emma is spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm negative and micro-chipped.
Dream Home Minimum Requirements: A loving FOREVER home!
