My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Archie! And I would love to meet you! I'm a 5-6 year old Beagle Boy, who was found running down a country road, down South. The rescuers knew I have what it takes to be a great partner to a person or a family, and got a hold of The People at BREW. I was pretty malnourished, and a bit sick, but really happy, when I first got rescued. I’m working on getting healthy (with antibiotics) and am eating up a storm! I'm revealing to my foster family that I am; eager to learn to be better on a leash while walking, am improving at preventing accidents while learning my fosterer's schedules, I’m not bothered by my cat housemate, and most of all, love to call a scent. When we walk, in the lot, or on the street, my little beagle nose overwhelms me with what has traversed the path before me, and tells me to "Get it Archie!" This causes me to make cute little grunting noises, and sometimes howl away. But My Fosterers are coaching me on relaxing, and I'm progressing well, they tell me. I am an escape artist that knows how to dig under fences, and wedge my little beagle body through tiny spaces! I love to play with my foster beagle mix sister, and leave the cat to himself, scratches hurt! I am also learning that cuddling and snuggling are two aspects of being a companion that I love, and am making up for lost time. I would be best situated in a house, or an apartment, with another dog to play with, and with a well established walk routine. Most times, I can hold it all day, but when you get home, I will go and stand by the doorway to infer I need to go out. And, though, my foster family has yet to see how I behave around children, I tend to like most everyone I meet, and have an overwhelmingly gentle and forgiving disposition. I have a lot to learn about being a domestic pet, but I have the smarts, an honest heart, and a lot to offer you, for many years to come! Foremost, I can promise to bring smiles, cuddles, snuggles, and love. All I ask is that I get my 3 walks a day, love, patience, and smiley attention, to let me know I'm doing well. I can't wait to see you at Beaglefest!
