Rupert's Story...
Rupert
~8 yo Male Silver Classic Tabby American Shorthair

Rupert. What a wonderful cat he is. He is the perfect companion. He is friendly, gently talkative, and will sit beside you wherever you go. Thankfully, he doesn't try to delete things from the computer, or eat your dinner from your plate. This is an intelligent as well as affectionate kitty. Oh, and did you notice how stunning his markings are? Rupert likes other cats and gets along with dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rupert, a Davis American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Davis, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
