My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This boy has been around the world literally! He came from Ecuador as a pup to his new home in the USA! Micquel loved his dog and cared for him until 2 years ago and gave him to Paul. Paul had Gabriel for 2 years and then Paul died. He was given to a family that lived in some apartments that wouldn't allow the breed and they in turn gave him to another family. Megan is fostering him until we can find him a forever home! Whew....this boy has been through some changes!

Gabriel is 6 years young and drop down gorgeous. He is heartworm positive and has been approved for the Heartworm Study at Collierville Pet Hospital! Gabriel is neutered and current on all his vaccines and preventatives. His coat is improving since he's been wormed for tapes too! He's now on a premium food and loving having a dog bed to lay on. He's put on a little weight since his early pictures as well.

His foster home has two other dogs and he does well with both dogs. He hasn't been around any cats so don't know if he likes them or not.

In meeting Gabriel for the first time he did really well. He has a gentle nature about him which I find amazing since he's been through so many changes. To make friends I brought some treats....OMG....that worked fine! So easy to work with a dog that is treat motivated. He'd be up for anything! His foster mom goes for runs and he stays right beside her. But Gabriel could go a longer distance than foster mommie! Gab already knows commands, sit, stay, down, etc.

To be considered for Gabriel you'll need a secure fenced in yard and prior large dog experience.

Save 1 Pet is a 501 C 3 approved charity committed to helping homeless animals. We don't have a facility (shelter) but work out of our homes and foster the animals until they can find a forever home.
