My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LILLY is a 6 month old female Sheltie. Her owner could no longer care for her and asked us to find her a new home. She was very shy when she came to us. She was frightened of men, afraid of other dogs and afraid of being outside. She has since learned that men are very nice, it is fun to play with other dogs, and new and exciting things can be discovered in the backyard. She is crate trained and doing well on her house training. She is in that teenage gangly stage, but will soon fill out. Lilly will never be very big. At about 14 lbs she is now ready to go to a home that understands Shelties.

ALASKA is a Siamese mix kitten. These kittens were at the Wichita Animal Shelter and were too young to be adopted, so they have been in a foster home till they were old enough to be spayed/neutered and placed up for adoption. They are now ready for their new homes. Alaska can be seen at Petsmart West. Indoor only!

BROOKLYN is a Siamese mix kitten. These kittens were at the Wichita Animal Shelter and were too young to be adopted, so they have been in a foster home till they were old enough to be spayed/neutered and placed up for adoption. They are now ready for their new homes. Brooklyn can be seen at Petsmart West. Indoor only!

GINGER is a DSH gray/orange patch tabby about 4 months old. Her colors really don't show up well in her picture, and are much prettier in person. She has the cutest orange patch on her forehead and big round golden eyes. She is a energetic gal who loves to run & play with her foster sister. Ginger gets along with everyone and would do best with a fun loving family with playmates. Very sweet, she loves to cuddle after she's tired out from playing. Her brother has already been adopted, and Ginger is ready to go to her forever home. Currently at Petsmart West. Indoor only.

CHLOE is just a puppy.......but a big puppy. She was blue lined by the Kansas Humane Society because they said she was food aggressive. Scheduled to be put down our foster parent saw her and couldn't let that happen. Again we are confused as to how KHS tests dogs because she is absolutely not food aggressive at all. She is about 3 months old, and mostly if not all Great Pyrenees. She is very sweet and calm, which is typical of that breed. She is excellent with other dogs, cats, and people and has no problem sharing her food or treats with others. She will be a big dog when grown but is already learning her house manners and will be spayed and ready for a new home within the month.

Heeeere’s JOHNNY! (formerly Jonah) Johnny was blue-lined at the KHS. The food there didn’t agree with his tummy, and he got diarrhea. But, PALS took him to a foster home, gave him some good stuff, and he’s been well ever since. He has moved right in with his foster mom’s other dogs. Even the girls have accepted him, which is something to brag about. He is a 2-3 year old Boston Terrier with the most laid back attitude ever! Pillows and laps are wonderful things. He is crate trained and house trained. Johnny loves toys and will carry one of them around with him as he goes about his day. He would prefer a quiet home with older kids, as younger ones are just way too busy for him, and scare him. Be prepared to get lots of Boston kisses from this sweet little guy. About 15 lbs.

MYA is a large Papillon at about 14 inches tall at the withers. She is about 16 lbs and is 4 1/2 years old. She has spent her first 4 years as a puppy mill dog and is just now learning about life. She loves to snuggle by your side. Mya gets along with cats and dogs and seems to enjoy playing with both small and large dogs. She is house trained. She does know sit and loves be treated for it. Oh, and instead of the typical Papillon blaze, she has the adorable RCA dog eye patch! Mya is a real sweetie and will be a wonderful addition to your family!

Here's CHEWBACCA (CHEWY), a 1 year old Poodle/Terrier mix, maybe? He came to us extremely thin and very timid, but since he has learned that no one and nothing in his foster home will hurt him, he has become a relaxed bundle of loveable energy. He has two levels: running around the house playing fetch and keep away; and wanting to just lay next to you wherever you are. Chewy has become very fond of his foster parent's dogs so he would enjoy at least one friend in his forever home. He is house and crate trained. He's cute, loves to play, and has a fondness for snow.

KISSES, in foster care for seven months now, is a Japanese Chin and more than ready for a home of her own! This adorable little (about 10 lbs.) bundle of fun and fur will be a great addition to someone's life - maybe yours! Kisses is smart, companionable, young (about 1 1/2 years), healthy and athletic. She loves cats and kittens, dogs and children (after a suitable warm-up period!), her toys, her crate, treats and regular brushing. She enjoys going for walks, riding in the car, and running at top speed around the yard. Her potential to become a perfect pet is unlimited! Thanks to David @David's Dog Spa, 4710 West Central for a grooming Kisses.

MAX is new to our program. He is a puppy at appx. 1 year old. He was found in a ditch and has gone from a dog with no manners to one who is learning all sorts of good doggie behavior. We think he might be a Lab and Rottweiler mix. At about 60 lbs., he is a wonderful dog who will make a great family companion and protector. Max is full of energy and making up for lost time. He will do best in a home with another rough and tumble dog that loves to play. Max's true desire is to have a home with LOTS of love and affection.

SPARKY is now sporting his new summer cut. We think it makes him look very much like a puppy, which he thinks he is. He is really about 2 to 3 yrs old, but don't tell him that. Sparky is full of energy, but loves to cuddle and was so thoughtful during his photo session, trying to do his best to please the photographer. He is crate trained and house trained with supervision. Good with other dogs, but always thinks he is a bigger dog than he really is, if push comes to shove with a larger dog. He is only about 8 lbs.
