My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Benjamin. I’m a little over a year old and have been neutered, microchipped and am housetrained and crate trained. I was found in the middle of the street and refused to get out of the way of the car coming toward me. I wanted to be rescued THAT badly. Luckily for me, the driver pulled over, picked me up and brought me home. I'm playful, active and energetic. I’m a very happy and loving dog. When I wag my tail, my whole body shakes and I snort and grunt, especially when I’m happy or excited (don’t worry this is normal as I am part bulldog). My foster family thinks it’s the cutest and funniest thing ever. I like following my humans around and getting their love and affection. I LOVE to chew on bones and play with tennis balls - really anything that’s not a stuffed animal (as I destroy those and eat the stuffing. I think it's good, but my humans don't like it when I eat it. Go figure), I enjoy playing with. I like to have someone toss a ball for me to chase, but I haven’t fully learned to give it back yet. I know how to sit, lay down and am working on other things with training too. I’m a smart and quick learner and I enjoy my training. I like to lie on a dog bed when I’m relaxing, but if you let me, I’d prefer to lie on your lap or next to you on the couch. At night I love to sleep in my foster parent’s bed with them. I jump up and wait for them to lift the blanket and then I go right under and sleep under the covers. I love to play outside, but I’m not a huge fan the rain. I love to go for walks. I prefer to be an only dog; that way I can give you all my attention and affection ... and vice-versa. I have not been around cats or children before. I have an affectionate personality - I love to love on my humans, giving them kisses and big wiggles. I'm a smart boy and as cute as can be. I will make a wonderful dog for a family who is looking for their one and only loveable cuddle-bug pup. Please give me a chance. I really want to find a home for the holidays. It's the only thing I asked Santa Claus for this year. Adoption fee: $75.

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at the link above or send an email to info@pawsforliferescue.org to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. This is a pending period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
