My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beauty is Rachel. She is almost 6 months old. She is very people oriented
and thrives on attention and affection. Right now, she is remarkably easy going
and low key. This is no guarantee that she will stay this way as she gets older
though!

Rachel is so smart that she catches on to everything quickly. She already
knows how to walk very nicely on a leash. She is very well house broken and crate
trained, but still too young to go all day without a potty break. She sleeps through
the night without needing to go potty.

Puppies do best with an experienced dog owner that understands the needs and
behavior of a young Lab. Obedience training and crating are essential with young
Labs, as well as plenty of exercise. Puppies can not be run on hard surfaces, like
the street, for long distances until they are at least 2 years old.

Taking responsibility for another life, whether it is a human or a pet, is
a big task that should not be taken lightly. Responsible pet owners realize the
seriousness of this decision and count their pets as their family members because
of the emotional bond they create with this pet. A dog relies on you for everything-
food, water, shelter, leadership, exercise, grooming, training, veterinary care,
companionship and protection. Are you ready?

Before putting in your application, please understand the commitment you are
taking on. Are you prepared to spend the next 10-15 years taking care of your dog?
That is about how long your dog will live. Can you afford the added expense of a
dog? When you get a dog, it is a lifelong commitment, and should not be treated
like a piece of furniture that you can just "get rid of" when you get tired of it.
After all, we want this dog to be part of your family for many years!

Rachel is looking for a home with the following:

  • a securely fenced yard

  • Parents who are either home during the day, can come home during the
day or will arrange for a petsitter to let her out to potty

  • Applicants with prior puppy raising experience are a bonus!

  • Homes without children under the age of 8

Adoption fee for Rachel $375, with an additional $50 deposit, which is refundable upon receipt of proof of spay.

Adoption Application.
