My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CIERRA

If you ask Cierra, she is a princess looking for her crown! Cierra is a beautiful pure bred Labrador, about 2 years old. She absolutely loves to be with people and will snuggle up for attention if you let her. Cierra is about 67 pounds, so she is a great, smaller sized Labrador.

Cierra has a lot of bounce when you first meet her, but she settles down pretty quickly. She is well house trained, likes her big crate and walks nicely on the leash. She is very smart and catches on quickly.

Cierra came to Lone Star a few months ago. We don't know much about Cierra's background, but she was a nervous girl when she first arrived. She is taking some medication that we are sure can be stopped, once she is settled in with her new family.

Cierra did not have much training prior to coming to Lone Star. Her foster mom & dad have been working with her to teach good manners, crate training and house breaking. She does not play nicely with other dogs, so we are looking for a home where she can be the center of attention with no other dogs. A home with a 6 foot privacy fence is required for the Princess Cierra. Cierra would probably be a good companion to kids over the age of at least 8 or 10 years old. She is probably too strong and bouncy for little ones.

Cierra is a very healthy girl with bright eyes and a shiny, chocolate coat. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, on heartworm prevention and microchipped.

If you live in the DFW area and are interested in adopting a princess of your very own, please complete our adoption application. Cierra's adoption fee is $295.

More about this rescue

Lone Star Labrador Retriever Rescue (Lone Star Lab Rescue) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to saving Labrador Retrievers in the DFW/Dallas/Fort Worth area by rescuing them from shelters, providing care for them in temporary foster homes, providing appropriate medical care (including spaying and neutering) and finding responsible and loving permanent homes for them. Lone Star Labrador Retriever Rescue will, when possible, assist Good Samaritans who have found stray Labradors. Lone Star Labrador Retriever Rescue is also committed to educating the public about responsible dog ownership. We believe that responsible pet owners spay or neuter their animals, keep them on an annual vaccination program, provide heartworm and flea preventative on a year round basis, provide basic training, and maintain their dogs as “inside” members of the family, rather than as outside yard dogs. All of our members and volunteers have one thing in common: They all love labs! If you would like to volunteer to help save endangered Labs, please email us at info@lonestarlabrescue.org
