Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oliver 8 yr old male grey and white Scottish Fold
regular adoption fee: see below
Want a lazy cat? Oliver qualifies. I think it is part laziness and
perhaps part depression. He arrived well fleshed but very dirty.
His fur was full of burs. No question he had been outside. Of course
we are all crazy about him but he started out very withdrawn. He has
always eaten well. And he has always inclined his head when you
scratch his neck and enjoyed it. Other than that he lay around .One
could even say "moping" As time has passed he has become happier and
more animated. I do think he is recovering from a deep sorrow.
Serious neglect ? His owner died and he was put outside? It is so
wretched not knowing the story that came before.
The shelter thought he was 8 yrs old. His paper work says " senior"
To us he seems to be getting younger every day as his spirits rise. I
doubt he will ever be a play monster or a wildman. He is civilized .
More the philosopher type. Refined. Clearly a darling. Carefully bred.
He seems to be in good health. His fur is VERY plush ( as a Fold's
should be ) and we have spent HOURS brushing him to get the huge
quantities of loose hair out. We know if we don't remove that fur
when we bathe him he will matt up all over. So we brush and brush,We
now can see he has some brown in his fur not all grey. He is getting
pretty ready for his bath. You can be sure we will have new photo's
then.
A photographer has been enjoying himself photographing our beautiful
cats and he is responsible for the elegant one below of this little
fellow. Probably he photoshopped it some. But this cat photographs
really well. He's a beauty.
He could probably get along with another gentle cat- he wouldn't want
to bother himself to object. Being an only cat would be fine for him
also. A quiet home without commotion and chaos ( children )( dogs)
would be perfect. His new family needs to be willing to let him
unfold and blossom. I think he is not yet fully himself. He needs
nonjudgmental folks who will love him and encourage him and let him
be as he recovers and enters a new life.
He eats wet and dry food very happily and is litterbox perfect.
