My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is "Nala", and here I come! As you can probably see, I'm a tiny little Red Tick Beagle Girl. My fosterers were told that I'm about two-three years old, and I have made it clear that the fun is just getting started. So far I have shown that I'm ok with cats, which may have to do with my petite size and playful nature (the older, similar sized cat, here at my foster's place, chases me sometimes, Run!) The two other, bigger dogs, love to play with me, and I do well with bigger and little dogs, alike, (as long as they are nice to me!) My two beagle foster buddies and I, love to get a work out, so we play and nap together. I loooove when we all go for walks together, and a lot of the time, I'm the one who starts to speak first (whether it be unknown cars, people, or sometimes I make mistakes and howl at trees and signs (but My foster people are getting me lots of practice in staying cool when on leash.)) Due to my size, I can easily sneak through, or out of, a lot of situations that might seem "Beagle proof," for medium and larger Beagle buddies. But, if you can keep your eye on me, and not leave me in a situation where I can work on escaping, we will probably be just fine. Did I mention I'm a cuddler? I'm the Beagle Queen of Cuddling! My favorite place to be, is right on your lap, or snuggled up on your chest, staying warm and next to the people I love. Oh, and I love most everyone I meet, once I get past my initial shyness, as long as people will pet me, and remember not to step on me, as I am so tiny. Also, I love to hang out in bed, under covers! Foster Mom says there isn't much room left, but I always seem to find space, and have a lot of practice sleeping through the days and nights, barely moving from my spot in the bed (If my foster sister or brother try to get me to move, I may growl, but I'm a gentle girl, and all talk.) I would be best with a companion dog, to help show me the ropes, and help to keep me calm when we are alone (need I mention someone to play with, while my people take a break?) After getting accustomed to the "outside" schedule at my foster's place, I've been progressing at keeping the accidents to a minimum, but "accidents can happen". From what I've shown, I do ok not being in a crate, while my people are gone for 6-8 hours a day and I tend to rotate between the cozy couch and the warm bed. Though I'm a small beagle girl, I can have a lot to say, if I get startled, confused, or scared. I do pipe down, though, when someone picks me up, but I can get nervous and weepy, at times, when I haven't fully adjusted to a setting, or forget that I'm in a new place that has exciting new friends to play with! Overall, I would be ok in a dog friendly apartment or home, can be on the nervous side (but with some proper attention can overcome this), love to cuddle, and am looking for my furrever home where Someone will love me, provide for me, and pamper me for years to come! For now, I will keep working on my cuddle and snuggli
