Candi's Story...
Candi is a beautiful, snuggly, and sweet 10-month-old, 13-pound, female, black and white Rat Terrier or mix looking for a loving guardian. Little Candi gets along with other dogs and definitely loves people. She was dropped off at Animal Care and Control in Chicago when her humans couldn’t care for her any longer. She is very loving and lets you pick her up and cuddle with her. She doesn’t know any formal commands yet, so she’s looking for a dog-lover to take her under their wing for training and a lifetime of loving care. Candi is very healthy, well-groomed, spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccines, de-wormed, and heartworm-tested. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305, or Martha at martha.j.hack@gmail.com or 773-690-2881. Her adoption fee of $175 benefits the Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance. They have big, small, old and young dogs looking for loving guardians. They spend their days at the Famous Fido Dog Boutique and Bakery at 5430 N. Clark Street in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Stop in, buy your dog a cookie, and meet some of these lovable souls.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Candi, a Chicago Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
