My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tia is a very sweet dog that lives for snuggling and attention. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, but may do best as the only dog or with another Italian Greyhound.

Hi my name is Tia. I am a fawn-colored Italian Greyhound with big beautiful eyes and a snaggle-tooth grin. I lived with an elderly person but recently had to move and now live with a nice lady, a cat, and a dog. We all get along pretty well, but the lady works alot so I get lonely. I would love to live with someone who has more time to sit on the couch and snuggle with me. I love snuggling and giving kisses. I have learned to go for walks outside, which was new for me, and not much fun when it rains, and try to use the pee pads when I'm inside the house and can't hold it. I also sometimes pee on the carpet when I am upset or don't like what I've been told to do. I am always drinking water and love food - to the point where I can sometimes be mischievous and try to get into the kitchen garbage or food that is left out if I get bored. I love to meet people and other dogs on the street when we go for walks. Everyone says I'm so beautiful, it must be true.

I am approximately 10 years old, weighs 9 lbs, and am up to date on routine shots, medical, and dental. I had terrible teeth and gums, but had a bunch of teeth pulled out this spring and they say my remaining teeth are in good shape. No more stinky breath for me! I also have a mucocele (salivary gland drainage) on my neck, but the nice doctor says it is not a health concern at this time and I don't even notice it's there. They say I am a bit of a drama queen, I have some anxiety issues, but they are related to being home alone and bored. I also get really excited when it's time to eat but I am slowly learning to sit and wait for my bowl, as long as I am kept to a feeding schedule.
