My story

Born in 2003, Myrna is a beautiful Tortie. She was shy when she first arrived at the Society, but loving care and patience from our staff has made a world of difference. She is now somewhat of a lap cat and can be very affectionate. Awwwww, look at that face!!!
The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904 to protect the city's working horses. Today, its clinic and Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center looks after the health and emotional well-being of every adoption animal.

HSNY is a non-kill shelter. Every animal is micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and they offer FREE vet care for the first 3 weeks after adoption. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenues) in Manhattan. Our adoption hours are 10:30AM - 4:00PM, 7 days a week.
