Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dexter was one of four beagles pulled from a kill shelter in South Carolina. He told us (using his best Shelby Foote accent), "Aaahm real glad ya'll were able to get us outta thaya. It wuz fixin' ta git ugly on us!" You can see in the photo that his tail is wagging in appreciation.
Dexter is heartworm positive -- the scourge of the South. His treatment will take awhile, so he will not be available for adoption until the spring. In the meantime, we will gratefully accept any donations toward his veterinary bills.
When he has settled into his foster home, we'll give you a better idea of his personality. Right now, though, he hasn't even unpacked his banjo.
