Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maggie was found by a good Samaritan in rural Ohio with noticeable injuries. The dog warden did not waste time and got her to an animal hospital ASAP. The initial thought was that she had been struck by a car doing damage to her spine. With no one reclaiming the warden’s office hoped for a savior for this sweet natured girl.
Midwest BREW stepped up to the plate to save her deserving soul. Maggie has been to our vet and had a radiologist consult yesterday. It is possible that she may have a rare, to the Midwest, spore born bone infection that has caused her spine to fuse. We will know more tomorrow, 2/22, at her follow up consultation. We are hoping for the best outcome to keep her happy, healthy and pain free.
Maggie needs a laid back foster or forever home to help her re-coup. Please let us know if you might be able to assist!

Update: 02/24/2012
Maggie’s radiologist consultation provided us with basic information on her spinal infection. Unfortunately, after 24 hour visit with the veterinarian, they were not able to get a “clean catch” urine sample to rule out chronic urinary tract infection as the cause. Maggie has now been started on high dose of anti-biotic to help control the infection. The radiologist believes that once the infection is under controlled some areas of spine (L2-3) will fuse together permanently.
Maggie will hopefully be healthy enough to receive her vaccines on March 6th and be able to move to foster or forever home! Her temporary foster home states: Maggie is a very sweet and quiet girl. She adores affection and seems to like the company of other dogs.
PLEASE let us know if you might be able to provide Maggie with foster or forever home.
