Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I am a shy pup, who is looking for a family who will shower me with attention. I still have tons of puppy energy; so long walks are a must. My beagle nose will sometimes get the best of me, and you’ll find me sniffing around the kitchen or your shoes, but after a long walk (all those trees! and grass! and squirrels!!) I mellow out and am happy to lounge on the couch with you.
When you come home, I’ll greet you at the door with a tail wag that shakes my whole body. I’m very loyal, and will follow you like your shadow. That’s because I love being part of the action. Especially when the action is in the kitchen! I’m a tall guy, and can reach the counters to see what you’re preparing up there. If you leave something out, I’ll happily taste-test it for you and let you know what a great master chef you are!
I’m getting better at tricks, even with the distraction of my two foster-sister dogs, and I walk very well on the leash. I love “baying hi” to all the dogs that walk past. I prefer to “do my business” on walks, and really think of the backyard as more of a fun time hangout. When we’re there I play well with the dogs, and I like to chase the shorter, playful one. We could play for days, if the foster people didn’t get cold and tell us to come inside. The taller dog is a bit of a grouch, but I give her space, and she lets me sleep in her doggy bed.
I give light hand kisses now, but with a patient family, I think I could come out of my bashful shell and really learn to love giving beagle kisses.
