Fox's Story...
Fox was born around 2/25/09. He’s a little timid, but is becoming more and more inquisitive every day. He’s as smart as his name suggests, especially when it comes to getting his fill of cat food, treats (his favorite are freeze-dried chicken bits) or anything he can eat. Fox likes to nibble on your hand or play patty cake when he doesn’t feel like playing any more. He’s not big on meowing, and prefers to chirp and grunt when he’s hungry. One day he could become lap cat, but he needs lots of TLC from that special someone to make it happen. He might be best as a single cat or paired with another very mellow cat.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fox, a New York Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in New York, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
