Benjamin's Story...
Rescued from Hamilton Animal Control and currently in foster care, Benjamin was found as a stray. It was pretty obvious from the day we rescued him that Benjamin's previous owners didn't take very good care of him. His underside is badly stained and he has patches of fur missing from his feet. This is caused by urine burn, and/or from being forced to sit on an unclean wire bottom cage for an extended period of time. Benjamin is now living in a large open pen, instead of a small commercial cage so his feet can heal properly, and so he can enjoy being able to move around in a space that allows him to hop, run and stretch out like every bunny wants to! His foster family is working on litter training him. Benjamin should continue to be housed in a pen or similar enclosure in his adoptive home. Benjamin is a sweet and gentle bunny who deserves a new home after all he's been through.

There is a $50 adoption donation fee to adopt Benjamin.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benjamin, a Hamilton Rex was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rex for sale in Hamilton, or seeking a Rex from a breeder in Hamilton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hamilton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hamilton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rex breeders who help with Rex rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hamilton paves the way for another one to be saved.
