SAD NEWS 6/19/12: Kira suddenly began having trouble breathing this morning and collapsed. We rushed her to our vet where they found she had internal bleeding around her heart most likely caused by a tumor that had burst and there was nothing that could be done besides euthanasia to end her suffering. She was a wonderful, lovable, loyal dog that was closely bonded to her foster mom. We are glad her illness was short and she was happy and healthy up until today but she will be missed.
Kira is a gorgeous sweet 13 year old shepherd mix whose calm gentle demeanor and loving expression are sure to win you over instantly! This poor girl was given up by the only home she's ever know because they were moving and could not take her. All she wants is a stable home in which to spend her golden years. She is in good health overall and still enjoys walks, and gets along with other dogs of all sizes. She is 55 lbs full grown and looks like a "shrunken shepherd"- maybe mixed with collie or greyhound to give her a more delicate petite build. We love her already and anyone who appreciates the regal, quiet dignity of a senior dog is sure to fall in love with her too. Please contact us to meet her.
We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS).
