My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there,

My name is Elof, or as my foster parents call me, Meatball.

My foster parents say I am a pretty special boy. Within two days I had full run of the house, even being allowed 2nd floor access when they are not up there. And they say that is pretty rare for fosters.

I get along well with both of my foster sisters. And even when the younger one acts like a grumpy princess, I just roll with it. And when she is in the mood, we will play with each other. Though it seems I would really like to play a lot more then she does. I love to just lay next to my older foster sister.

My foster parents think it would be best if I had a 4 legged sibling in my new home to be my buddy and confidence builder. As stated above I like to lay by my foster sisters, and follow them around. And I follow their lead, like when it is time to go outside especially. But they think that I would also be all right as an only dog. It might just take me longer to adjust to your home.

I will get startled at loud noises or quick movements, so my foster parents think that a home without any young kids would be best.

I do well in my crate during the day. I whine after being put in, but quickly settle in, and sit quietly to be let out when you get home. And I have not had an accident, and it is a 9 hour work day here. At night I get to sleep wherever I want. I would love to sleep on the big bed. Even though I do well in the crate during the day, I dislike being in the crate at night, and let you know it.

Walks, well that is where I will need a fair amount of work. If one of my foster sisters is along, I will tend to follow. But if foster dad tries to take me for a walk by myself, I am pretty set against it.

There is a fenced in yard here for us to run around in. Foster dad has been putting me out on a tie out for practice. I do all right on it, but I do get a little nervous, and I am not quite sure of it. If you use a tie out, you will need to careful with me, and be out with me, or at least keep a close eye on me. Potting on a tie out, or on a leash especially, might be take some time for me to get used to also.

We have only gone for a couple of short drives, but I seemed to do fine in the car.

There is one thing you do need to know about me. Three of my four paws are pretty deformed. They don’t seem to bother me and I get around fine. Foster dad can fill you in with more details about them and what the vet had to say about them.

And as I like to say, you don’t have to be hungry to want a Meatball.
