Hello World,
My name is JR (for Just Right) and I was named for the bichon that won the Westminster Dog Show. He was a fluffy white bichon who barked, pranced and wagged his tail. I’m a white, happy, loving and housebroken bichon – who wags my tail happily as well. My story, however, is not as wonderful as the bichon champion’s. After being a loving and loyal companion for about seven years, I found myself in a kill shelter because my family decided they no longer had time for me. It wasn’t the first time I found myself in that shelter – you see I started my life in the shelter as a puppy.
When I found myself at that shelter once again, things were very confusing for me. After living in a home and with a family for years, being outside in the cold was pretty scary for a sensitive and loving bichon like me Why I am so grateful to be rescued and cleaned up and to feel safe that I will just lie contentedly at your feet - then look up at you with big, brown eyes that say ‘Thank You a million times over.”
Although peppy and happy, mom says I’m a very low maintenance guy – mellow and just glad to be near someone I love. I like to walk, enjoy other dogs a lot, and think birds are ok. I’m not quite sure about cats – so I give them a LOT of room.
Above all, I really want to please and to feel safe and spend many happy, healthy years with a Forever Family, Bichon FurKids volunteers say that my loving nature and genuine sweetness have touched their hearts immeasurably. All I know is that they are very kind to me, pet me a lot and help me to feel loved and wanted.
