Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Michelangelo is a gorgeous, mellow, fearful and shy, four-year-old, male English Shepherd looking for a loving guardian. Michelangelo is super sweet, but will need a patient and experienced dog-lover to take him under their wing and increase his confidence. He will need time and space to trust new people and adjust to new surroundings. Michelangelo walks nicely on leash. He’s got a medium amount of energy, so a long walk or a little run in a fenced-in yard is sufficient exercise. He enjoys the company of other dogs. He loves people, but sudden hugs can catch him off guard and make him uncomfortable. He has had some training, sits nicely on command and doesn’t jump up on people. He was adopted once, however he was getting into his adopter’s car in the parking lot, and when the people grabbed his collar to get him in the car, he growled at them and he was quickly returned to the shelter. To meet and give Michelangelo a chance to shine, please contact the Save-A-Pet shelter at adoptions@saveapetil.org or 847.740.7788. His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued pets of Save-A-Pet. He is healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative. You can meet Michelangelo and all the other Save-A-Pet residents at the adoption center at 31664 N. Fairfield Rd., in Grayslake, Illinois, on Monday and Friday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Thursday from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, or Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
